Why become an SVS Member?

I attended an SVS meeting and was asked to join. I decided I was just too busy. The next weekend when my kids and I were at the outskirt of the town, we went to a scheduled 10:30 Mass to learn it was only a Communion Service because the priest could only come every other week. I complained bitterly to my wife and she reminded me that I needed to do something to help eliminate the problem instead of complain about it. I went back home and joined SVS. I am working to increase vocations in the future and glad to spend my time to improve things. What about you?
I am in SVS because I get a lot of personal satisfaction and gratification from doing the work of the Lord, for the Harvest. I enjoy working at being of some support to the Laborers for the Harvest.
SVS activity is a ministry. I enjoy giving my time and efforts to the Lord for the blessings I receive.

The Order of Preachers (OP) is one of the major religious orders in the Catholic Church founded by St. Dominic and approved by Pope Innocent III in 1216. The Order was specifically founded for PREACHING AND SALVATION OF SOULS. Members of the Order are popularly known as Dominicans (followers of Dominic), after St. Dominic, the founder.
